Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Study for Healthy Participants
We are seeking healthy individuals to take part in a Johns Hopkins research study. The study will look at the effects of psilocybin, a psychedelic drug, with pindolol (a medication that blocks a serotonin receptor). We are also interested in looking at the effects of psilocybin on sleep and dreaming. The study aims to understand the mechanisms in the brain responsible for the changes in perception induced by psilocybin.
Participant Duties:
Two dosing administration sessions with EEG (electroencephalogram) occurring at the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus, spaced at least 10 days apart. Participants will either receive psilocybin + pindolol, or psilocybin + placebo first.
Sleep and dream diaries will be filled out every morning for 10 days before and 10 days after the dosing sessions.
Participants will wear devices that monitor brain activity during sleep. The sleep EEG will be 5 days before first session and 10 days after first and second dosing sessions.
Participation in the study will last about 30 days.
You May Be Eligible if You...
